Pulau Redang, Malaysia, offers some of the best diving and snorkelling in this part of the world with its rich marine life, sandy beaches and clear waters.

Tanjung Tokong

Situated just around from Turtle Bay this spot is well renowned for seeing Green and Hawks bill turtles. In addition to the turtles there are many varieties of reef fish here around the submerged boulders. Currents can be stronger and these often bring in the bigger feeders such as jacks and trevally.
Tunnel Point
A little further south is an array of boulders that create caves, breakthroughs and canyons. Close inspections is rewarded by sights of the shyer marine inhabitants lurking in the darkness.
Depth: 10 - 30m
Viz: 10 - 30m
Currents: Occasional
Getting there : Boat 20 mins
Best months: April / Sept

Terumbu Kili

The southern island of Pinang provides more diving opportunities and this spot is a rocky outcrop that descends down to 20 meters or so. Strong currents are often experienced in the channel that separates it from the island. Black tip sharks have been spotted here along with barracuda, trevally and jacks.
Marine Headquarters
There is an old wreck of a cargo vessel near the Marine Headquarters on the north of Pulau Pinang. It is now covered in coral and is home to many fish including a stone fish that takes some searching out

Viz: 10 - 30m
Currents: Occasional
Getting there : Boat 30 mins
Best months: April / Sept

Pulau Ling

This small island is best known for two massive coral heads which are said to be the largest off the Malay Peninsular. The larger of the mammouth Porites measures around 25 meters across at its base circumference. They are both over a hundred years old and the small caves around the bottom attract angel fish and moorish idols.
Batu Chipor
Just north of Pulau Ling is a small rocky outcrop that is covered in seafans, whips and sponges. It is barely exposed at low tides and currents can be strong here.
Depth: 10 - 20m
Viz: 10 - 25m
Currents: Occasional
Getting there : Boat 20 mins
Best months: April / Sept

Pulau Ekor Tebu

There is an exquisite array of hard corals at this site, all jostling for that optimum light capturing position on the reef. There are blue corals, soft leather corals and some large clams to be found here. The northeast tip of the island comprises mainly of large boulders dropping down to 24 meters with a cave at the bottom. Eagle rays and bow-mouth shovel-nose guitar sharks have been spotted at this dive site. Watch out for the Titan Triggers that nest in the sand.

Viz: 10 - 30m
Currents: Occasional
Getting there : Boat 20 mins
Best months: April / Sept

Pulau Kerengga

The two islands of Kerengga (Besar and Kecil) offer some shallower coral gardens. Between the two islands lies the best concentration of hard and soft corals and reef fish. You may spot hump head parrot-fish and sting rays here, the sandy bottom being a haven for them.
Depth: 5 - 18m
Viz: 10 - 20m
Currents: Occasional
Getting there : Boat 20 mins
Best months: April / Sept

Chek Isa

The submerged reef here is bouyed and starts at 8 meters deep where two huge boulders carpeted in soft corals and anemones form a small canyon. Many cracks conceal smaller critters as well as sponges, worms, squirts and stinging hydriods. There are many puffer fish and porcupine fish to be seen at this spot as well as cowries and spider shells, a beautiful site to witness them in their natural habitat and not in a shop window. This spot is also very good for night diving with nocturnal reef inhabitants in abundance.
Depth: 8 - 20m
Viz: 10 - 30m
Currents: Weak
Getting there : Boat 20 mins
Best months: April / Sept

Mak Cantik

There can be strong currents around the submerged boulders here. As we know this is good for bigger fish so barracuda, jacks and trevally are common at this dive site along side many other species of schooling fish that sweep around the coral formations in spectacular unison. Some beautiful coral and anemone gardens can be found here too.
Depth: 10 - 20m
Viz: 10 - 30m
Currents: Can be strong
Getting there : Boat 20 mins
Best months: April / Sept

Pulau Lima

There are several dive sites around Pulau Lima (five islets), the most famous being "Big Mount". This is a submerged mount around 80 meters off the northern tip of the island; it is widely regarded as one of the best dive sites in the Redang Archipelago. The boulder formation drops down to around 30 meters and stronger currents can be present here hence the likelihood of seeing bigger pelagic s. Mantas and whale sharks have been spotted here in the past.
The southern tip of Pulau Lima has another cluster of submerged boulders where flamboyant nudibranchs can be seen and a number of small caves offer sanctuary to more timid reef creatures. Coral encrusted walls can be explored on the eastern side where morays and black tip sharks maybe observed.
 Depth: 15 - 40m
Viz: 10 - 30m

Some interesting facts about firefly.
1. Those firefly that kelip are male. They were there at the tree (pokok bakau mostly) for food and mating purpose. They kelip to attract female’s attention. That’s what all the male animal do, attract the female for mating purpose. :)

Bukit Tinggi, West Sumatera, Indonesia

Bukittinggi : The Most Relaxing City in All Sumatra

Merapi Mount

Bukittinggi (Indonesian for "high hill") is one of the larger cities in West Sumatra, Indonesia, with a population of over 91,000 people and an area of 25.24 km². It is situated in the Minangkabau highlands, 90 km by road from the West Sumatran capital city of Padang. It is located  near the volcanoes Mount Singgalang (inactive) and Mount Marapi (still active). At 930 m above sea level, the city has a cool climate with temperatures between 16.1°-24.9°.
The town also has an alternative name, Tri Arga, which refers to the three majestic mountains that shape the regions fortunes. Many visitors come to Bukittinggi to visit the remarkable Sianok canyon where giant rock cliff faces, rugged trees which grow on top and the dramatic surrounding mountains make this canyon a spellbinding view. This is an ideal place to go if you want to get beyond the average tourist trail. Compared to other spots in Sumatra, Bukkitinggi only receives a handful of visitors that use the town as a base for nearby hikes or to take cultural tours to the Minangkabau highland.

Traveling

Telok Jara

crystal water

Yesterday i went to Terengganu, at the east of Peninsular Malaysia. Had a meeting regarding our company next Umrah trip. We arrived around 12pm then straight away meet our contact. We had our lunch so we spend our meeting and discussion time at the beach area. Amazing place they got there. Peacefully. clean air, clean beach. Finally we decide to open our new branch in this area. I hope this  would be a good place for our future business, InsyaAllah.  Every year Tanjong Jara will be the center of dock for all the 'sailor' for Monsoon Cup. So don't miss it for the next season. Lets enjoy the fun of the Tournament.
